We’ve followed the launch of several new social casinos in Canada over the past few months. On these sites, you play casino-style games using virtual currencies rather than real money if you’re in an eligible province.
As a player, you only want the best. Therefore, we spent time analyzing the different CA social casinos to select the top options available. You can check them out on the banners of this page. Continue reading, though, as we’ll explain how the sites work and share our firsthand reviews. You’ll also learn our expert tips for playing.
At a social casino, everything is in virtual currency. You get them from bonuses to play casino-style games, without having to make an initial payment.
From our findings, many newly launched social casinos follow the sweepstakes promotional model. These sites use two virtual currencies for gameplay, including Gold Coins (GC) and Sweeps Coins (SC). With GC, you play for fun and entertainment, but SC is redeemable for real prizes after meeting a few requirements.
Legit sweepstakes casinos in Canada also don’t require a prior payment to play. You’ll receive GC and SC through promotions, and although there are usually GC bundles in the store, buying them is entirely optional.
We can’t give a simple yes-or-no answer here because the situation depends on the province. From our reviews, sweepstakes casinos are available in most CA provinces but are excluded in a few places, often Ontario and Quebec. You have to confirm whether your selected site is active in your location before signing up.
Our initial list of sweepstakes social casinos in Canada featured many sites. After closely testing the brands, these are the top four we selected:
When you join McLuck, you’ll receive a welcome bonus of 7,500 GC and 2.5 SC. If you play with your Sweeps Coins at least once, you can redeem them for real prizes. The site gets our recommendation because it allows relatively low limits.
McLuck supports redeeming just 10 SC for gift cards, and processing is completed within 48 hours. If you decide to redeem a cash prize instead, you need 75 played SC, which is lower than the common 100 SC threshold. Based on our tests, the turnaround time is 3 to 5 business days because the real prize is sent via bank transfer.
In the McLuck lobby, you can play 1,500+ casino-style games with your SC to redeem real prizes. Our top titles on the site include Royal Beellion Hold & Win, Magic Mummy Megaways, Gravity Blackjack, and Chicken Run.
Some Canadian players prefer spinning classic reels with fruits, 7s, bars, and other traditional symbols. If you’re one of them, Cider Casino is one of the best new sweepstakes casinos to try. We counted over 500 titles on the site, including a dedicated collection of retro slots.
After registering with Cider Casino, the first classic slot we played was Evoplay’s Hot Triple Sevens. This title has just 3 reels, 3 rows, and 5 lines, but it includes a Free Spins bonus round. At Cider Casino, we also had fun with Diamond Slam, Fire Red 7, Wandering Wilds, and Power Gems.
The Cider Casino welcome bonus is 20,000 Gold Coins and 0.3 Sweeps Coins. We expected more free SC (Sweeps Coins) from the brand, but it’s not a deal-breaker. As you continue playing, you can get more SC from the daily rewards, referral bonuses, giveaways, and loyalty program.
We found more promo offers on Rolla than on most other new social casinos in Canada we reviewed. First of all, the site will give you 500,000 Gold Coins and 10 Sweeps Coins after registering an account. Compare that to the welcome bonus on other sites on this list, and you can see the difference.
After the sign-up offer, Rolla has daily bonuses ranging from 0.20 SC to 5 SC. You can also complete daily quests for extra rewards and receive weekly SC coinbacks for your plays. To crown it all, the sweepstakes casino runs a 6-level VIP club with increasing rewards as you progress.
You may be wondering what to do with your GC and SC bonuses on Rolla. Well, the site houses 900+ casino-style games, so there’s quite a lot to play. We suggest trying exclusives such as Rhino Coins Hit the Bonus, Reel Bass: Jackpot Catch, and 3 Lucky Chong Tian Pao.
WOW Vegas features a collection of 20+ social live casino games. We’re talking about table games such as blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and craps, but with real human dealers. Alongside the classic tables are TV-style game shows with live hosts.
What’s interesting is that some of the social live dealer games are exclusives, including WOW Euro Auto Roulette and WOW Live Bingo. That said, the titles we enjoyed the most are Grand Bonus Blackjack, Lightning Dice, Royal Roulette, and Bubble Crapless Craps.
If you sign up with WOW Vegas, the welcome package gives you up to 250,000 WOW Coins and 5 SC over three days. We claimed 150,000 WOW Coins + 2 SC on the first day, and 50,000 WOW Coins + 1.5 SC on the second and third. To clarify, WOW Coins work the same way as Gold Coins.
Our list of new social casinos in Canada was put together after careful rating of each site. We measured their performance in different areas to confirm that they’re reliable, and these are the main factors we considered:
You’ll agree that games are what make a site a casino, so we check them first. By our standards, a good new social casino should have at least 500 titles in multiple categories. Here are the types we focus on the most:
| Category | Types |
|---|---|
| Slots | Classic, Megaways, Hold & Win, Jackpots |
| Table and social live dealer games | Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Video poker, Game shows |
| Instant win games | Crash, Plinko, Mines, Dice |
A sweepstakes casino that covers at least 75% of the above options receives high ratings in our test. However, it’s not just about having the titles. We also expect them to be from renowned software providers for fairness and quality reasons.
At new social casinos in Canada, you need a steady inflow of GC and SC to play. Therefore, regular bonuses are non-negotiable. We rank sites that offer all or most of the following promotions:
| Promotion | Description |
|---|---|
| Welcome bonus | The first bonus for new players after registration |
| Daily rewards | Fixed or random bonuses for signing in to your account at least once every 24 hours |
| Referral program | Rewards for inviting other Canadian players to join the social casino |
| VIP club | Loyalty bonuses for playing on the site over time |
If bonuses are frequent, then GC packages remain optional as they should be.
As we explained earlier, you have to play with SC and meet a few requirements to qualify. We expect convenient terms from the best sites, and here’s what’s involved:
| SC redemption term | Description |
|---|---|
| Playthrough requirement | This indicates how many times you’ll play with your Sweepstakes Coins to make them redeemable. We prefer brands that ask for just 1x. |
| Minimum SC limit | You have to accumulate a minimum amount of eligible SC to submit a prize redemption request. For us, ideal limits are 10-50 SC for gift cards and 50 SC -100 SC for cash prizes. |
| Account verification | You also have to verify your account to prove you meet the site’s minimum age and are in an eligible province. In this area, it’s best if the brand uses an automated check that takes a few minutes or hours only. |
Sweepstakes casinos feature payment methods for purchasing optional GC bundles. Likewise, you need them to redeem your eligible SC for real prizes. The top brands we pick for our list must have secure and familiar banking options for both transactions.
Regarding optional GC purchases, we prioritize credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. For SC redemption, gift cards, bank transfers, and e-wallets like Skrill are ideal.
As we check the payment methods, we also test their processing time, specifically for redemption. Ideally, gift cards should arrive within 48 hours, and cash prizes shouldn’t take more than five business days.
Right now, you’re likely reading this guide on your smartphone. When you want to play, you’ll probably use the same device. We know how dominant mobile gaming is today, so we analyze how each social casino brand performs on smartphones and tablets.
Based on our research, most new sweepstakes casinos in Canada don’t launch with dedicated iOS or Android apps. That’s understandable. If an app is absent, we assess how the social casino site performs on Safari, Chrome, and other mobile browsers. Our highest ratings go to those with responsive, fast-loading, and easy-to-browse interfaces.
As a social casino player, you may need assistance at any time. That fact is especially true when playing on a new site you’re yet to become familiar with. For this reason, we don’t skip reviewing customer service in our review.
Our priorities are live chat and email support channels. Live chat is essential for quick, real-time help, and it’s best when it works 24/7. On the other hand, email works best for more technical or detailed matters, and replies should take less than 24 hours on the best sites.
Furthermore, we check whether the social sweepstakes casinos have self-help resources. By that, we’re referring to help centers, knowledge bases, and FAQs. If present, you don’t always have to contact the support team for simple questions.
If you join a sweepstakes casino on our list, you can expect quality social gaming features. That said, it’s still up to you to make the most of your experience with what’s available. We’ve compiled the following pro tips to assist you:
Signing in to your social casino account every 24 hours gets you a bonus. We recommend collecting the reward because it’s one of the best free ways to increase your SC balance. Not to mention, many sites apply a streak-based promo pattern. That means if you log in for consecutive days, you receive a higher bonus.
Of course, we’re not asking you to play at new social casinos in Canada daily. On days you don’t want to open any game, you can simply sign in, claim the bonus, and log out.
Sweepstakes casinos offer Gold Coins for fun only. In our opinion, an ideal way to use the virtual currencies is to play them on different game types for maximum entertainment. Don’t stick to the same titles all the time.
Using your GC on multiple casino-style titles will help you understand how different game types work. For example, you can use it to practice strategies in blackjack or observe changing reels in Megaways slots.
At sweepstakes casinos, you can only redeem SC for real prizes after verifying your account. If the process is automated, you can get it done within a couple of minutes or hours. However, manual verification can sometimes take up to 24 hours.
Either way, the earlier you verify your account, the better. That way, you won’t worry about additional delays when you’re ready to redeem your Sweeps Coins. You mainly have to upload a government-issued ID to confirm your identity and a utility bill or bank statement as proof of address.
The majority of social casinos we’ve found in Canada are active on social media networks. You can follow them on Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter), among others. We suggest doing that for two main reasons.
First and most important, you’ll know when there’s an update on the social gaming site. That could be a new game, software provider, bonus, or other essential information.
Second, most sweepstakes casinos organize giveaways on social media. From what we’ve witnessed, these giveaways often require you to like, comment, share, or tag friends. If you participate, it’s an extra opportunity to get bonus GC and SC.
On a sweepstakes casino site, you have to maintain the fun aspect and play within safe boundaries. For that, it’s important to set time limits so you don’t stay on the sites for longer than you intend. If you decide to buy optional GC bundles, purchase limits are also necessary.
The good news is that many top sweepstakes casinos have socially responsible gaming tools to use. Also, you can message customer service if you need to apply a time break or self-exclude for a particular period.
Before we conclude our guide, take note of these upsides and downsides of new social casinos in Canada:
If you’re in Canada, finding the best new social casino shouldn’t be challenging. We’ve already done the job and selected the top sweepstakes brands you can choose from: McLuck, Cider Casino, Rolla, and WOW Vegas.
On each site, you can play slots, blackjack, roulette, and other popular casino-style games. They offer frequent free bonuses with GC and SC, and you only purchase optional GC bundles if you choose. Once you pick the right sweepstakes social casino for you, tap the banners on this page to visit the site and register.
Yes, there are social casinos that accept players in Canada. However, whether you can use them depends on your location because most sites exclude certain provinces.
CA social casinos don’t pay real money because they’re not traditional online gaming sites. They only allow real prize redemption if you play with Sweeps Coins and complete a few requirements.
We can’t point to a single most popular social casino in Canada. However, if you need suggestions for the top sites to play on, we recommend McLuck, Cider Casino, Rolla, and WOW Vegas.
You can play several game types on a sweepstakes social casino. The best sites offer online slots, table games, and live dealer titles. Also, you can expect arcades, fish shooting games, and instant win options.
